My mom always tells me that when I was little I would run off in the mall and she would go about looking for me, only to find me in the cosmetics isle, experimenting with all the testers! This is where my absolute love for makeup and all things pretty began.

Besides the fact that from a very young age I have always had an obsession with cosmetics, my training and subsequent apprentices started at the well-known Elizabeth Beauty School in Summerstrand Port Elizabeth. This is where I started my career and gained entry into the makeup industry.

I thoroughly enjoyed the course which emphasised working with different skin types, tones, conditions and how to prepare and take care of the skin before application. It also explored different styles of makeup, the most effective techniques of applying it, different tools of application and very importantly- how to work hygienically and how to keep tools cleansed.  I graduated with distinctions in both the Elizabeth Beauty School qualification as well as my ITEC qualification (International Therapy Examination Council) in 2014. I also had the amazing opportunity of attending world renowned, LA based, celebrity make-up artist Tammana Roashan's Dubai Masterclass in 2015, who also goes by the name 'DressYourFace'. I learned so much about the art of make-up as well as vital tips and tricks in trading in this vibrant industry. I belong to the MAC Cosmetics Pro Club and Inglot Pro Club for Professional Artists- two of my favourite brands which I really enjoy working with.

My experience with different skin tones, old and young ensures you will be in good hands. My signature look encompasses a look that simply accentuates your natural features, giving you a clear glowing complexion, with effortlessly defined brows, lashes and a nude lip. Hence my love for bridal makeup. Although, I do love the bolder look when the occasion calls for it- smoky eyes, dramatic liner and the iconic red lip.

My goal in this industry is to be able to work on set for one of South Africa's leading fashion magazines. I have a great passion for beauty editorials. It would also be a dream come true if I could work as a Business Marketing Manager & Ambassador for one of the many successful makeup houses yet to hit the shores of South Africa :)

I am also a proud and loving wife and mother to two incredible little humans. Apart from my make-up passion, I am in the process of completing my final year in BCOM Business Administration, majoring in Marketing and Economics at the University of South Africa.

I am currently freelancing under my brand 'Mishka Amod Studios' and it is very important to me that all my clients are happy with my service, feeling calm, fabulous and confident once I have completed their requested looks.

Whatever you are looking for in a makeup artist, I am sure you will find it here. I will work with you and more importantly your ideas to create something truly special.
